by home visitings.

HEALTH CAMP DATA:
In total 116 Nepalese people
participated in the survey. There were 43
male and 73 female. Altogether, majority
of people had some kind of health problem in terms of gastritis, joint pain,
allergy, anaemia and other diseases( high blood pressure, asthma, fever,
diarrhea, dermatitis, conjuctivitis).
LESSON LEARNT AND
CHALLENGES:
Lesson learnt:
In previous health related activities
,the local community people tend to less interestes and participative, thus we
wanted to take a different approach by organising this camp. We first found out
about their family background and helped make them understand the importance of
their own health before asking for their problems and then it was easy for us
to understand their actual problems and recommend suitable treatment for
them.
The screening, general check up
accompanied by the medicine distribution and the counselling was the most
effective part of the camp.We hope to
focus more on this area in the future.
Many of the people were curious about
their health condition so knowledge about their health sate and medications as
prescriptions they were given.
Surprisingly we found really good
participations of the beneficiaries and admirations among the community.
Challenges:
Before we began,we realized that we
wouldn’t able to satisfy ever person in the community no matter how hard we
tried. It was not easy to adjust and work in diversified community
environment. The adequate supply of all
the medicines and the materials, timely commencement of the health camp, disputes
related to medicine distribution, competition among the villagers and other
external factors were sometimes difficult to manage during the program.
Somewhere people were not helpful
even for sharing the information about the health program, though it was solely
for the benefit of their own community.
Overall it was a successful camp and
we didn’t experience many huge challenges during the camp.
EVALUATION:
This health camp benifictes 116
beneficiaries;in which they were properly instructed about the knowledge about
the health status, problems identified, and further awareness and counselling related to their heath problems.Referral
was done to the higher center as per requirement for the additional investigations and
treatment. Free medicine distribution was done to the client as doctor’s
prescriptions.
The
responses of the community people was quite assertive, they were very
satisfied of this health camp for getting the accessible health facilities in
the own locality and in effective management.
